Privacy at a Glance
Your Data Stays in Your Apple Account
Your trips, routes, fuel and maintenance logs stay on your device and sync privately via your own iCloud account. Nothing is ever sent to our servers.
No Tracking or Analytics
Speedometer doesn't track you, collect your data, or send information to our servers. We do not use any analytics or tracking services.
Apple's Secure Framework
We use Apple's secure Core Location framework for GPS data. No email required, no account needed.
1. Information We Access
Location Data
Speedometer accesses your device's GPS to measure your current speed, distance traveled, and route in real-time. This data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. Location access is required solely to calculate speed, distance, and route information. You may choose "While Using the App" or "Precise Location" based on your preference.

No Personal Information
Speedometer does not collect any personal information. No email, no account, no sign-up required. We don't know who you are, and we don't want to.
2. How We Use Information
All data processing happens locally on your device. Speedometer uses GPS data solely to display your current speed, track distance, and show your route on the map in real-time.
Trip history, fuel logs, maintenance records, and saved routes are stored on your device and — if you choose — synced across your own Apple devices via iCloud. None of this data is ever transmitted to our servers.
3. Data Storage and Security
Local Device Storage
Your speed data, routes, trip history, fuel logs, and maintenance records are stored on your device using Apple's secure iOS storage. Speedometer does not transmit any of this data to our servers.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your data is synchronized privately across your own Apple devices through Apple's iCloud infrastructure — tied to your personal Apple ID. We never see, access, or receive this data. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the app settings.
Device Security
Your data is protected by Apple's built-in iOS device encryption and is secured by your device passcode and Face ID / Touch ID. iCloud data is protected by Apple's end-to-end security.
4. Data Sharing
No Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, or transmit your location or speed data to any third party. Speedometer does not send your trip history or routes to our servers.
No Third-Party Services
Speedometer does not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, or any other tracking tools.
5. Your Privacy Rights
Control Your Data
You have complete control over what data Speedometer can access. You can grant or revoke location permissions at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
Delete Your Data
To delete all Speedometer data from your device, simply delete the app. To also remove synced data from iCloud, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage > Speedometer and delete the data there.
No Account Deletion Needed
Since Speedometer doesn't require an account or store data on servers, there's nothing to delete on our end. Everything is on your device.
6. Children's Privacy
Since Speedometer does not collect personal information or transmit data externally, it does not process data subject to COPPA requirements. Speedometer is safe for users of all ages.
7. Terms of Use
Your use of Speedometer is governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA).
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy as Speedometer evolves. Any changes will be reflected in the app and on this page. Continued use of Speedometer after updates means you accept the revised policy.
